The first game you’ll be able to drive the new BMW M240i in is… Rocket League.
The free-to-play driving soccer game has received a deluge of real-world, motorsport and movie vehicles throughout the year, and now it’s the turn of the new pocket-rocket from Munich.
The latest 2-Series BMW (G42) departs from its traditional 1-Series lineage, this time based on a shortened version of the rear-wheel-drive 3-Series platform – you can still drift this coupe, thankfully.
On the road, it’s powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged 6-cylinder engine with 374 hp. In Rocket League, that translates to a torching rocket boost, a Dominus hitbox and comes with a signature Thundernight Metallic Decal, United In Rivalry Animated Decal, Bavarian Hat Topper and a BMW Player Banner.
To tie in with the new car, BMW has announced it will be the title sponsor for the esports Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) in Europe for the 2021-22 Season.
The M240i will be available in Rocket League between the 4th and 10th of November for 1100 Credits, with pricing £3.75/$4.99 for 500 credits, £7.50/$9.99 for 1,100 credits, £18.75/$24.99 for 3,000 credits, or £37.50/$49.99 for 6,500 credits.
