WATCH: Let’s play TOCA Race Driver 3, Episode 17

In this week’s TOCA Race Driver 3 Let’s Play, all bets are off as I take on oval driving once more. This time, however, it won’t be in a clunky truck, but rather in an American Open Wheel IndyCar. Second or better in the standings will get me through to the next round, so I’ve got to be on my game this time around.

Back in Episode 15, on the 22nd Tier of the World Tour, I was able to conquer the left turns in the US SpeedTruck. Things we’re back to normal for me with familiar cars and tracks last week in Episode 16 as I took on DTM for a second time, but now in this 17th edition of this series, I’ve got a load of lefts to make at very high speeds.

American ovals at Gateway, Dover and Nashville have all returned for this Tier, but joining the schedule is the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I’ve got a good history there with a very recent iRacing Indy 500 victory in my back pocket, but TOCA Race Driver 3 needs me to get it done in only five laps as opposed to 500 miles.

I don’t think drifting and IndyCar racing are synonymous with one another. Even though drifting has been a common topic on the Traxion channel as of late, I still think that drifting through Gateway’s first and second corners at full speed has got to be an oversight. I’m going to do my best to avoid causing carnage in these mid-2000s Indy machines.
