German real-world hillclimb venue Glasbachrennen looks set to be released for sim racing platform RaceRoom.
The 5.3km route has been recreated in the title for use in the FIA Esports European Hill Climb Cup, which has its final this weekend in Luxembourg.
Currently, RaceRoom has the fictional ‘RaceRoom Hillclimb’, which was used for the qualifying stages of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile’s competition.
However, in the run-up to the championship-deciding round, the FIA and RaceRoom released in-game images of the Glasbachrennen point-to-point route. Traxion has confirmed with both parties that it has been developed and will be used for the event.
It’s yet another distinct venue for the simulation, which has popular locations such as Monza, Spa-Francorchamps and Laguna Seca, but also wonderfully niche venues like Charade and Adria or historic German airfield circuits such as Diepholz.
Located in Bad Liebenstein (Steinbach), Glasbachrennen is used in the real-world FIA European Hill-Climb Championship.
Distinguished by its armco-lined route, narrow confines and use of tyres for corner markers, racing was first held here in 1974. It was revived in 2005, and then again in 2011, following significant investment, and joined the FIA competition in 2024.
