Two weeks ago, sim racing game Rennsport published a new cross-platform update, a further downloadable content pack and a community survey.

Now, with the feedback collated, it has laid out its plans for its next update, and beyond, expected before the end of October.

Its community debrief has been published, noting improvements expected soon, and then also looking ahead to longer-term developments.

Next update changes

Rennsport has noted that there’s still work to do with the visuals, specifically on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It claims that the next update will go some way at rectifying “pixelated safety fences, shimmering edges, and blurred braking boards.”

“These visual clarity enhancements and console upscaling fixes are locked in and will arrive in our very next update targeted for the end of this month,” reads the statement.

It also discussed reworking night lighting, placing greater emphasis on using your headlights for guidance.

Alongside this should be a fix for game crashes when viewing replays, alongside the aforementioned larger grids for private lobbies.

Currently, the title is capped at 12 cars and 30 minutes for this game mode, and a recent update explained how it isn’t planning on any changes.

However, following player feedback, it recently ran cross-platform test races with 24 competitors for 60 minutes.

“The results from those sessions were overwhelmingly positive,” it said and consequently confirmed this expanded format to be part of its next update.

It is also adjusting the XP system with a flattened curve, with the aim of reaching level 80 in a less grindy fashion.

New expansion at SimRacing Expo

While the Kings of the Ring DLC, which included three cars and an additional Nürburgring Nordschleife layout, is still relatively fresh, Rennsport will begin teasing, or confirming, the next vehicles soon.

At the SimRacing Expo in Frankfurt, which runs 16th to the 18th October 2026, it will “reveal the full class line-up”. This time, the aim is to fill existing car types, or classes, with different models.

While we await further details, it should be noted that, for example, Rennsport has only one GT2 car, one Group C racer, three LMDh/LMH models and two TCR examples. These categories, for example, could do with a bolster.

Rennsport also promises “another major feature that tackles key community requests” will be unveiled at the Expo. The final of the Rennsport R1 competition for 2026 will be live at the event, too.

Continued work

Meanwhile, work continues on further refinements, such as ongoing wheel support, force feedback changes and baseline setups.

“We acknowledge that our out-of-the-box experience needs to be much stronger,” reads the statement, before name-checking the Logitech RS50, Thrustmaster T598 and T300 as devices it’s specifically working to improve, plus missing button maps for Xbox users with Fanatec devices.

“We are also partnering directly with hardware manufacturers to gain deeper technical insights and ensure robust support across a broad range of racing wheels and accessories,” it said.

Meanwhile, it will reverse the sky changes introduced in the most recent update, as some players reported blue and pink track surface tints.

“We own that mistake, and we have reverted those changes while we re-evaluate our approach for the future.”

Work also continues on the single-player AI performance, lag at race starts and loading times.
