CONSPIT wheelbases now support iRacing 360Hz force feedback

One bullet point. Just one single bullet point that changes the way CONSPIT wheelbase owners experience iRacing.

In the sim racing platform’s Season 4 patch notes, the following was published:

  • 360 Hz support has been added to CONSPIT wheels

Of course, while it may seem like a footnote in the lengthy changelog that also included new cars, tracks and multi-pacecar race starts, it is a notable change.

What is iRacing 360Hz force feedback?

In essence, iRacing’s physics system runs at 60Hz. Or, in simple terms, the simulation’s physics updates its calculations 60 times per second (one hertz is equal to one cycle per second).

Consequently, force feedback systems were receiving data 60 times per second, in line with the sim. Other platforms can run higher Hz physics, but that doesn’t necessarily directly relate to a more realistic driving experience, which is subjective.

But a higher hertz output can lead to greater FFB detail. So, iRacing can send six 60Hz packets in one go, which, when unpacked, delivers 360Hz. Thus, there’s the ability to send greater detail back to the driver, despite a mismatch to the inherent cycle quantity.

How 360Hz FFB feels different in iRacing

Existing CONSPIT direct drive wheelbase users should now be able to feel greater nuance in certain areas, such as surface changes, subtle differences in kerb design or bumps in the track.

Ostensibly, such detail could be felt prior to this update, but this additional feature provides an extra layer of detail, which could help when detecting small oversteer moments or asphalt texture changes. In turn, this provides greater immersion.

In particular, sim racers should be able to notice granular detail when riding edges at iRacing circuits equipped with its latest 3D kerb models.

How to enable iRacing 360Hz FFB with a CONSPIT wheelbase

The first step was for the iRacing development team to enable the 360Hz mode specifically for CONSPIT devices.

Now that has been rolled out with the Season 4 2026 update, CONSPIT updated its Link 2.0 PC software and rolled out wheelbase firmware updates to match.

The process, then, is very simple. Make sure your ARES wheelbase has the latest firmware, make sure your CONSPIT Link 2.0 software is up to date and make sure iRacing is also updated.

Then, simply start the simulation, as 360Hz mode will be automatically enabled.

Naturally, CONSPIT provides the option to tweak this setting, as within Link 2.0 you can adjust the ‘Filter Frequency’, separate from any other FFB setting, to your liking. This doesn’t change how your other settings feel, but rather, it is an additive sensation.
