2022 NASCAR content comes to Real Racing 3

EA’s mobile racer Real Racing 3 will feature the latest NASCAR challengers from Toyota, Ford and Chevrolet in its October update.

2022 NASCAR season comes to Real Racing 3

Free-to-play mobile racing game Real Racing 3 has announced a new update and with it another huge licence. After September’s 2022 Formula 1 grid was added to the game EA has revealed the latest NASCAR season will be represented.

NASCAR’s three manufacturers – Toyota, Ford and Chevrolet – will have their Next Generation stock cars showcased, with each costing M$2,150,000 in-game for both iOS and Android versions.

It’s not the first time the 2022 NASCAR season has appeared in videogame format, as NASCAR 21: Ignition’s 2022 expansion pack, NASCAR Rivals and iRacing have all featured the latest from the USA’s premier stock car championship.

The fourth and final new car of Real Racing 3’s latest update is Nissan’s latest sports car: the Z, with the update also marking the beginning of Round 2 of the game’s second season of events. However, players can still take part in Rounds 2 and 3 of Season 1 as they are still available until the 8th and 22nd of November.

Ford Mustang GT (2022)

2022 NASCAR season comes to Real Racing 3

Ford’s latest challenger currently leads the 2022 NASCAR standings thanks to Joey Logano’s three wins and consistent performances. Ford has also taken five more wins thanks to Chris Buescher, Chase Briscoe, Austin Cindric (pictured) and Kevin Harvick (two).

With styling cues from the Mustang road car Ford will be looking to take its first Cup Manufacturers’ Championship since 2020.

TOYOTA Camry TRD (2022)

2022 NASCAR season comes to Real Racing 3

Toyota’s most successful driver of 2022, Denny Hamlin, has had an eventful year so far thanks to an entertainingly destructive rivalry with Chevrolet driver Ross Chastain. He also sits fourth in the overall Cup standings with two wins and is a perennial front-runner.

Strangely, Toyota’s Camry road car uses either a four or six-cylinder engine, with hybrid options. A far cry from the roaring V8 of the race car, making it a slight oddity among its NASCAR rivals.

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 (2022)

2022 NASCAR season comes to Real Racing 3

Chevrolet driver Chase Elliott has the most wins of anyone this season and is widely seen as the Cup series’ most popular driver – following on from his father Bill’s similar status among the NASCAR fanbase.

The Camaro ZL1 road car can accelerate to 60mph in 3.5s and has a top speed just shy of 200mph and can be purchased with a 10-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual.

NISSAN Z

2022 NASCAR season comes to Real Racing 3

Nissan’s latest entry into its ‘Z-car’ line-up is new to the North American, Australian and Asian markets this year (but not in Europe or the UK sadly, due to tighter environmental restrictions). The car features rear-wheel-drive mated to a 400bhp twin-turbo V6 engine, providing plenty of power and an engaging driving experience.

Although the car shares much of its componentry with its 370Z predecessor (including the tremendous SynchroRev manual transmission) the Z has improved upon its weaknesses (especially the interior look and materials) enough for it to stand out as a marked improvement.

Real Racing 3’s NASCAR and Nissan Z content will be available to download and play from the 25th of October.
