Taking a leaf out of the Gran Turismo playbook, purchasing used trucks for a cut price will soon be possible within both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2.
These second-hand vehicles will be cheaper to purchase but will have wear and presumably signs of mucus, so their stats won’t be as tip-top as a box-fresh equivalent.
To make sure this process is logical, how part wear and truck damage is calculated will also be changed. There will now be three categories: Damaged parts fixed by standard repairs, worn parts that need replacing and permanent wear which can only be updated through an entire overhaul.
This change will be part of an upcoming 1.49 update that will also add the moon and dynamic stars to the night sky.
For those with a compatible monitor, High Dynamic Range will be supported for the skies now, and during a storm, more lightning strikes should be visible.
It’s part of what seems to be a hectic time for developer SCS Software, ahead of a new trailer preview and continued work on the Kansas DLC for American Truck Simulator. No release date for 1.49 has been currently set.
