A new update for EA and Firemonkeys Studios’ mobile racing game, Real Racing 3, is now available, and 10.2 adds four exciting new cars from the likes of Apollo, BMW and Porsche, plus several new events.
While the main game update is already live, the road-going BMW M4 and Apollo IE will be available from 15th February.
Here’s everything you need to know about the latest additions.
Two BMW M4 coupes
As hinted at in the article title, the current G82 BMW M4 will be arriving with the 10.2 update. It features a 3-litre twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine that powers the rear wheels.
Sitting alongside it will be the BMW M4 GT3 race car, something that was announced during BMW Sim Live in October 2021 and has also found its way in simulators such as Assetto Corsa Competizione and rFactor 2 of late.
The road-going version can be acquired by accruing Victory Points as the Round 6 of Season 1 reward. The racing specification, meanwhile, can be found within a Rolex 24 Daytona event – which, as it happens, is where the real-world equivalent made its recent IMSA competitive debut.
Apollo Intensa Emozione hypercar
The Apollo Intensa Emozione, aka ‘IE’, from 2019 is a rare beast, with only 10 of these produced worldwide. It cost $2,670,000 in the US and €2,300,000 in Europe. For Real Racing 3 players, it’s within the specific Club Day Apollo IE event.
Porsche 911 992 GT3
Rounding out this month’s update is the current generation 992 Porsche 911 GT3. 23 years since the first GT3 model, the latest version uses a 4-litre flat-six engine over the rear axle with 503hp.
This follows the 992 Turbo S variant that arrived in Update 9.7 back in September 2021.
Nine-year anniversary
2022 marks the ninth anniversary of the popular on-the-go racing game, with the original launch on 28th February 2013.
With the monthly updates still pouring in, it seems like there’s still plenty of life left in this portable racer yet.
To celebrate, this month players will receive a Chevrolet Camaro SS 2017 for free that can be used in a birthday time trial competition. Here you can earn an anniversary-themed livery design.
