Another expansion for Hot Wheels Unleashed is coming soon for PC, PlayStation, Switch and Xbox, and it will be Monster Trucks themed.
For the uninitiated, Hot Wheels Monster Trucks is a separate range of enlarged diecast models in 1:64 scale – as opposed to the ‘regular’ 1:64. These are based upon real-world monster trucks that tour as part of the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live event.
No gameplay footage or vehicle details have been released yet for the upcoming expansion, but if we were to guess, then virtual versions of the touring monster trucks would be a solid bet.
What we do know is that the environments will be drastically different to the existing orange tracks. The teaser trailer shows luscious environments, from a jungle to a frozen landscape and even a sandy, desolate, scene.
These are actually four dioramas: Jungle, Quarry, Desert and Ice Mountain, set within a new area entitled the Stop Motion Studio.
In addition to the new location, the pack will include five new vehicles, a themed Track Builder Module and themed customisation items for the Basement and Player Profile.
The Hot Wheels Monster Truck Expansion will launch on 21st April as an individual purchase, or as part of the second season pass for Unleashed, Pass Vol. 2. You can purchase this from 17th February and will include this Monster Trucks expansion plus nine additional vehicles, three Customisation Packs and three Track Builder Modules – as and when they become available.
This follows the Batman Expansion for arcade racing game, which was released in December for £11.99/$14.99. For reference, Pass Vol. 1 cost £24.99/$29.99.
We’ll let you know when the full details of all Hot Wheels Unleashed paid DLC packs are revealed and don’t forget, a SpongeBob season is now active within the game.
