A new limited-run sim racing steering wheel has been created via a Simucube and Gomez Sim Industries collaboration – the Formula Pro Elite Simucube Edition.

The formula-style wheel is a high-end input device that follows the lineage of the Texas-based manufacturer’s product line. It is then married to the Finnish wheel base creator’s Quick Release system plus the gearshift and clutch paddle feel from the existing Tahko GT-21.

The face plate is made from 5mm thick carbon fibre and is placed upon a plastic-free aluminium body. There is a 7-way multi funky switch, 10 push buttons, five rotary encoders and a USB LCD touchscreen display. All features we have come to expect from GSI.

Then, layered on top are the Simucube hub extension, quick release and paddle design, working with GSI ‘CEMS’ aluminium magnetic shifters and ‘HSE’ Dual Clutches. It’s finished in a rather fetching black and orange colour scheme, reflecting the partnership.

Simply, if you own a Simucube 2 (Pro/Sport/Ultimate) wheel base, and are looking for a formula steering wheel, this should provide the best, lasting, quality and ergonomics around.

GSI already has a range of Formula Pro Elite steering wheel models available, including different colour combinations and even a Tony Kanaan edition.

It becomes the third Simucube branded wheel available within its current range, following the aforementioned Tahko GT-21 Wireless and Tahko GT-21 Black Edition. It also showcases Simucube’s intent for an expanded offering, following the recent reveal of the upcoming ActivePedal.

Only 200 of the Formula Pro Elite Simucube Edition will be available for $1,499/€1,798.80 and they will go on sale 1st December 2022.
