Rocket League continues to pump out new content, and yesterday (24th March 2022) we were given notice of another new sports car heading to the platform.
Starting on Wednesday 30th March, Psyonix will offer the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 as a downloadable and playable car inside of Rocket League.
The car model will utilize the Dominus Hitbox, as the recent McLaren 765LT did, but will sound like a Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 should.
In the real world, this particular Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is classified as a mid-engine hybrid-electric sports car boasting a naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine. The beast produces 574 kW / 780 PS / 770 HP, and also has a 48-volt electric motor which provides an additional 25 kW / 34 PS / 34 HP on top of that.
The new-to-Rocket League car will be available as a bundle for 1100 Credits for a limited time, from 30th March to 5th April. That bundle includes the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 car, the Countach’s engine sound, two types of wheels, an “Argento Luna Decal” and a special player banner.
If you need to go out and buy credits with your real money, the credit bundles cost £3.75/$4.99 for 500 credits, £7.50/$9.99 for 1,100 credits, £18.75/$24.99 for 3,000 credits, or £37.50/$49.99 for 6,500 credits.
Seeing where Rocket League came from, with just about no licensed content at the start, to now having licenses for this as well as the McLaren 765LT, the BMW M240i, a pair for Ford Mustangs, Formula 1, NASCAR and James Bond, it’s definitely really cool to see real-world entities fit their product into the soccer-race car video game.
