Revised physics touted in first Monster Energy Supercross 5 gameplay footage

With Monster Energy Supercross 5 releasing in just over one month from now, the first gameplay footage has been released and more details about revised physics have been released.

The official game of the US-based AMA Supercross championship, the fifth instalment includes new features such as split-screen multiplayer and the Rider Shape System where you rider must train to recover from injury.

There have also been changes to the motorcycle’s behaviour too, in light of Supercross 4 being, in my opinion, the most difficult Supercross released by developer Milestone so far.

Changes include revised steering and suspension systems, with the aim of helping more precise control when the bike steps out of line. It’s stated that you can be “more aggressive without falling by opening the throttle at the end of the drift.”

In the gameplay footage, ridden by YouTube Supercross-ace EnduroGame, you can see not only just how much talent they have but also a similar helmet camera visor tear-off animation that was recently added to MXGP 2021 alongside a revised HUD. A new tutorial, called ‘Future Academy’, will also be added.

Monster Energy Supercross 5 will release 17th March 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC, with an optional Season Pass also available that includes six additional items.
