The Nintendo Switch 2 has a stellar launch lineup for racing game fans. Mario Kart World is naturally the system’s tentpole launch title, but Shin’en Media’s futuristic racer Fast Fusion, the sequel to Switch launch title Fast RMX, is also worth checking out.
While we praised Fast Fusion for its blinding speed and budget-friendly price, the futuristic racer suffered from graphical issues and a limited number of tracks compared to its predecessor. Thankfully, the first major post-launch update addresses these issues.
The latest patch adds a new ‘Pure’ quality mode, which renders the game at 1440p at 60fps in docked mode and a dynamic 1080p in handheld mode. Crucially, it also disables the DLSS upscaler, which results in pixelation and blurry image quality in other rendering modes.

In addition to visual and performance improvements, the update introduces a new Carpium Cup to the Championship, featuring three extra tracks: Alpine Trust, Sunahara Plains, and Zenshoh Habitat. While these circuits previously appeared in Fast RMX, increasing the total number of tracks in Fast Fusion to 15, the new versions feature enhanced visuals and modified layouts accommodating the ship’s new Hyperjump ability.
