Back in March, Nacon made the surprise announcement that Rennsport, previously a PC-only racing simulation, is racing onto consoles later this year. Now, we have a more specific release window.

During BigBen Week, Nacon confirmed that Rennsport is set to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in September 2025. An exact release date has yet to be confirmed, but the console release is expected to coincide with the final v1.0 PC version.

Competition Company is developing the console version in partnership with Teyon, the Polish studio behind Monster Truck Championship, Terminator Resistance and RoboCop: Rogue City.

Nascent sim racing title Rennsport is now in free-to-play Early Access

On consoles, players will be able to compete with PC players via cross-platform support and leaderboards. Progress will be transferred across all platforms via the player’s Rennsport profile and app.

Featuring Unreal Engine 5 graphics and physics derived from rFactor 2’s isiMotor engine, Rennsport raced onto Steam Early Access in December 2024 following a series of closed betas and is currently free-to-play.

The PC version currently features a car roster primarily composed of real-world GT racing cars, with locations including Daytona International Speedway, the Nürburgring Nordschleife and the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb.

A September release window will pit Rennsport against Project Motor Racing, a spiritual successor to GTR and Project CARS, which also has an autumn release window, as more hardcore sim racers head to consoles. Assetto Corsa EVO is also expected to get a console port after the PC Early Access period ends.
