Racing arrives in SnowRunner Season 7: Compete & Conquer on 31st May

There are only a few games that we report on over on Traxion.GG that aren’t really racing games, per se. SnowRunner, the popular terrain simulation platform, used to be one of those games. Starting on 31st May, that will no longer be the case.

When SnowRunner Season 7: Compete & Conquer releases, the season will center around racing activities that will join the fold. Talk about an unexpected, yet totally awesome surprise!

The scene is set on the fringe of America’s Heartland, in Burning Mill, Tennessee. The area in the real-world is big on all types of racing, from my experience in the state. Being that this is SnowRunner, the racing type activities will get pretty dirty.

SnowRunners can get on two new vehicles to race in. One is the Gor by-4, a lightweight buggy-type car with some pretty big tires installed. The other is the Sprinter 43-19, which is a Dakar-style truck which is set up for speed.

The racing will include time-trial events and checkpoint racing to compete against other SnowRunners on dirt paths and off-road tracks. Truly, this is a great change of pace from the usual SnowRunning we’re used to. It will be interesting to see how the terrain simulates in racing conditions.

Season 7: Compete & Conquer is part of the SnowRunner Year 2 pass which retails for $24.99. The Season will also be available on its own, but that price still hasn’t been revealed. The other Seasons this year have cost $6.99.

As reported back in April, the Next Gen upgrade is also coming on 31st May. SnowRunners looking to play on their Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 will now be able to enjoy playing in the mud and snow on systems built for 60 FPS, 4K UHD enhanced graphics, faster load times and a deeper depth of field.

Just as well, Nintendo Switch SnowRunners will be welcomed to the crossplay party in the next update. Switch users will now have crossplay support to race against others playing on PC, PlayStation or Xbox.

What do you think about the new racing inclusion into the game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments, and we’ll keep you up to date when the update goes live on the other changes implemented.
