It was a second win of the 2025 season each for Cooper Webster and Sebastian Job at Spa-Francorchamps, taking their title fight a race further in the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup on iRacing.

Job’s main race win was much more comfortable, while Webster took a fraught first-ever sprint race win, to go with the feature at Daytona a fortnight ago.

Race 1

Alejandro Sanchez came into round three with the points lead, but immediately found himself scrapping for eighth in race one, which is the all-important pole position for race two.

Reigning champion Sebastian Job made a double move into T1 on Sanchez and his teammate Luca Kita on lap two, and that, along with Florian Lebigre’s fight with Sanchez, secured Job a top-eight finish, and Sanchez a difficult afternoon.

Up front, Mitchell DeJong had taken pole on his return to PESC, but didn’t really have the speed to hold it. Webster passed him into turn one of the second lap, and would comfortably hold the lead for his first-ever sprint race win.

Behind, Alejandro Sanchez would be caught up in another incident, this time at the final corner of the final lap. 2023 champion Jordan Caruso tried to make a move for 10th and spun the Spaniard. Sanchez would finish down in 18th, losing his points lead to Webster.

Race 2

Luke McKeown would be on pole but was quickly passed on lap one by Job, who controlled the race from there. His gap was never less than one second, but there was nothing like the dramatics of the Mugello sprint race either, where Diogo Pinto and Job battled door-to-door for a lap.

Instead, the race was for second, where Chris Lulham bumped McKeown as he was passing Apex Racing teammate Yohann Harth.

Lulham gained these two places, but given the push-to-pass tactics, the likelihood of him keeping those after post-race investigations is low. Nevertheless, it cost McKeown vital points in a developing four-way title fight.

One of those contenders, Webster, was busy making places further down the field. He passed DeJong for seventh around halfway through the race, but the time he lost in the fight meant that would be his limit. Seventh would be good enough for him to hold his championship lead, though.

Sanchez would only make four places over the 12 laps, finishing 14th, and so he dropped the third in the championship standings, behind Job who hung onto the win.

The drivers now gear up for a mid-season tournament at the Sachenring in three weeks’ time. While it’s rumoured to be a different format than Watkins Glen’s edition in 2024, it’s certainly going to be a change from the regular two-race evenings, and one in which more than ever, the contenders will have to be on their toes if they want to catch the leader, Webster.
