It must be Vision Gran Turismo season, as another playable concept from a real-world car manufacturer has just been unveiled – the Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo.
Following the Corvette CX twins unveiled at The Quail (A Motorsports Gathering), comes a small, sporty, hatchback to act as a concept car at the German International Motor Show (IAA Mobility).
Following that show, it will then be displayed in person at the second Gran Turismo World Series event in Berlin, late September.

It previews what a next-generation Vauxhall and Opel Corsa could look like – not the giant wheels and wings, but the overall silhouette and front facia, more specifically. Truncated triangular elements are said to hark back to the classic Opel Manta 400 rally car, although that’s hard to spot if you ask us.
In this pumped-up Vision GT guise, with a giant rear diffuser and yellow colour accents, Opel claims 800 hp, 800 Nm of torque and a top speed of 320 km/h. This is thanks to two electric motors (no combustion power here) delivering all-wheel-drive and 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 2.0 seconds, according to the manufacturer.
This is all supplemented by a brief 80 hp boost button.
“It reaffirms Opel’s commitment to the small car segment and can be driven by everybody in one of the world’s premiere racing simulators – Gran Turismo 7, this autumn”, says Opel.

The brand was last seen in Gran Turismo 6, missing from GT Sport and so far, Gran Turismo 7. Under the Stellantis mega-corp, the German outfit’s models are also sold in the United Kingdom under the Vauxhall moniker.
This concept has also been confirmed as a ‘Vauxhall’, but that specific brand’s press information excludes the following quote or any in-game screens – let’s not take it as confirmation that Vauxhall will be in-game.
“We are delighted to welcome Opel back to Gran Turismo with such an exciting and innovative take on the Corsa,” said Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi.
“Opel has a rich racing heritage, and the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo will be popular with GT players around the world.
“We love seeing Vision Gran Turismo cars brought to life as full-scale models and can’t wait for the reaction of fans when it is unveiled at the IAA Mobility 2025 on 8 September before it is displayed at the Gran Turismo World Series event in Berlin on Saturday, 20 September.”

With the two Corvette VGTs set for an August release in Gran Turismo 7, and this Opel “autumn”, it could indicate a September launch for the GSE. There’s also a Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo car on the way, but with no release window just yet.
