MotoGP 24 game sales hit ‘targets’

Parent organisation Embracer Group is happy with the sales results for the latest official MotoGP game.
MotoGP 24 game sales hit targets

Releasing earlier this year in May, this season’s motorcycle grand prix racing game, MotoGP 24, has exceeded its financial goals.

That is according to Embracer Group, the Imperilled Swedish super-group, consisting of several gaming subsidiaries.

In its Q1 Financial year 24/25 report, which covers April to June of this year, it reported PC and console game sales decreasing by 34 per cent year-on-year, to SEK 2,656 million (€230,761)

“The decreases were anticipated due to a lack of notable new releases and a tough comparison given the successful release of Dead Island 2 in the corresponding quarter last year,” said Lars Wingefors, Embracer’s Co-founder and Group CEO.

“Just to call out one of the new releases, MotoGP 24, this got off to a good start with favourable reviews.

“[It is] already achieving its ROI targets.”

With the return on investment in the can, all major game updates for the title have now been completed, as Italian developer Milestone turns its attention to other products and a likely 2025 sequel.

MotoGP 24 Esports

The Milanese outfit has a long-term with the sport’s promoter Dorna until 2026 – the organisation was recently purchased by Formula 1 custodians Liberty Media.

The official MotoGP esports competition is due to return soon, with a recent game update adding the requisite structure for the championship.

Milestone’s other contemporary motorcycle game, Ride 5, will be added to the PlayStation Plus game catalogue on 20th August.

Its next game will be Monster Jam Showdown for PC and console, releasing on 29th August.
