Cube Controls reveals motorsport-inspired Taurus steering wheel

The latest Cube Controls wheel, shown at the SimRacing Expo in prototype form, looks familiar – but, we can’t be so sure…

Cube Controls reveals motorsport-inspired Taurus steering wheel
  • The Taurus is a new carbon-fibre sim racing wheel by Cube Controls
  • It appears to be based on a real-world motorsport entrant’s design, but the company is mute as to which one
  • Expected to be complete by the end of 2025

Cube ControlsSimRacing Expo appearance reminded the world of its real-world motorsport credentials.

Appearing with a Mercedes-AMG GT3 car and a fun, tyre-swapping pitstop challenge, the Italian company has made no secret of its passion for motorsport, which has seen the likes of Nestor Girolami, Daniel Juncadella and Giacomo Altoè join its partnership program.

However, Cube Controls has also provided steering wheels for Honda’s Type R TCR car, and a partnership with Mercedes-AMG has seen the GT2 and GT Track Series cars fitted with the Sardinian business’s products.

And at the 2025 SimRacing Expo, Cube Controls has announced plans to launch its own motorsport-derived product line for sim racers.

The Taurus steering wheel, on display in prototype form at this year’s Expo, boasts buttons with a rapid 1000 Hz response time and a carbon fibre chassis. Two versions were on display with different button designs, and the rotary switch will offer greater functionality than its real-world kinship.

Another addition will be strips of LED lights, not seen on the motorsport version – but which model used on the race track has this new Taurus been inspired by?

Well, Cube Controls was not at liberty to say, but if you compare its shape and button placement to an upcoming GT3 racer, set for its debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring IMSA event in March next year, we think we’ve worked it out…
