It was announced on Thursday (5th May 2022) that Asetek SimSports and Formula 1 driver Kevin Magnussen have partnered up to further the development of the Asktek SimSport sim racing product.

Magnussen is said to be working close with Asetek engineers to bring the real feel of a Formula 1 car to their lineup of sim racing products.

Currently competing in the 2022 Formula 1 championship season with the Haas F1 Team, Magnussen has worked in the simulation sphere in the past with McLaren. “There is a lot of sim equipment that claims to emulate an F1 car, but it misses the mark because it was designed by people who do not have F1 racing experience,” said Magnussen.

Magnussen was reportedly impressed with the Asetek line of products and will work to make those products even better as an ambassador to the brand. It goes beyond just name recognition and branding.

“Our partnership with Kevin is much more than a branding agreement, where we put his signature on our products,” said André Sloth Eriksen, founder and CEO of Asetek. “As an example, over the next few weeks, Kevin will spend a significant amount of time in our lab working closely with our engineers on the development of the best possible firmware for our wheel bases.”

The Asetek brand is fairly new in the realm of sim racing, revealing their product lineup just last year. Currently, Asetek SimSport offers their Invicta Hydraulic Pedals, their Forte Load Cell Pedals, and most recently they added a pair of Invicta Sim Racing Boots to their lineup of products.
