The backbone to many wheels connecting to a Fanatec system, the ClubSport Universal Hub now has a V2 available to pre-order now with a release date coming sometime in October of this year. In fact, there are actually two ClubSport Universal Hub V2’s on the market as of Monday, one that is able to work with Xbox and one that is not, and that is a difference of $20 /€20.

The V2 Hub, similarly to the Formula V2.5 wheel that was also announced yesterday, now has the magnetic shifting paddles built on as opposed to the mechanical switches found in the original. It also features the interchangeable quick release system for when the QR2 Wheel-Side technology is released.

All current Fanatec wheel rims are compatible with the new Hub, but it will also fit any wheel with a 6×70 mm or 3×50 mm pattern in the center, which means users can use their MOMO, Sparco, OMP, MPI, or any other rim brand out there with those specifications.

As always, the V2 Hub features adjustable button clusters like the first edition, fine tuning with a tunine access menu, and this new wheel also has upgraded electronics. The one that’s compatible with both PC and Xbox is listed at $349.95 /€349.95 and the one that doesn’t work with Xbox is listed at $329.95 /€329.95. Both wheels state they are PlayStation ready but “the full functionality can only be guaranteed on PC”.

The Xbox-capable wheel will start shipping on 6th October while the non-Xbox wheel will ship starting 27th October. The V1 Hub is no longer listed on the site, and many of the rim/hub bundles have been updated with the V2 Hub, placing those on preorder status as well. With a little bit of digging, if you just need a rim or an accessory, those are available to purchase now separately.

I swear, I just posted that news about the Fanatec Formula V2.5 rim yesterday and immediately there was even more news coming out of the Fanatec camp with another new and improved product. These folks are going all in for 2021. As always, let us know your thoughts on the news in the comments below.
