Gaming peripheral Corsair raised eyebrows when it made its first foray into the world of sim racing with its debut sim rig, with a prototype previewed in June.
Since then, Corsair has acquired Fanatec’s parent company, Endor AG, ushering in a new era for the German sim racing brand after a tumultuous period.
As a result, the still-unnamed sim rig is now officially part of the Fanatec family.
Fanatec’s new sim rig showcased at SimRacing Expo 2024
Corsair’s debut sim rig is being showcased at the ADAC SimRacing Expo 2024 this week, where it is rebranded to Fanatec. Several Fanatec logos are prominently displayed on the steel tubes and embroidered on the seat.
Fanatec’s new sim rig boasts 50mm steel tubing, with the ability to add optional accessories including a front-mounted tray to protect your PC or console from dust, a direct drive front mount to attach a wheelbase, accessory mounts, and an inverted pedal mount system.
The base rig includes an onboard 100mm VESA mount for monitors from 27 to 49 inches. This can be upgraded with a free-standing adjustable single monitor stand supporting screens up to 65’ inches. For those with a triple-screen setup, an expansion kit will support triple screens from 27’ to 55 inches, with the option to add a fourth overhead monitor up to 34 inches.
A wide range of Elgato products, including lights, cameras and Stream Decks can also be added. While the rig showcased at the ADAC SimRacing Expo is finished in an eye-catching white, a black option will be available at launch.
Furthermore, a new two-piece bucket seat designed for the rig will be sold separately, but third-party seats will also be supported thanks to a 290mm bolt-hole mounting pattern.
Pricing details and a release date for Fanatec’s unnamed sim rig are still under wraps, but more details are expected later this year.
