Wave goodbye to NASCAR Heat 5 multiplayer, but something new is just around the corner…

Nintendo is investigating Switch 2 backwards compatibility issues for several original Switch racing games, including Grid Autosport, TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3 and WRC 9.

We expected this to happen, once iRacing purchased the rights to make NASCAR titles from Motorsport Games, but now it’s been confirmed.

A new NASCAR PC and console game is set for a 2025 release under the stewardship of iRacing, following the sale of NASCAR Team Properties’ gaming license by Motorsport Games.

Nintendo Switch enthusiasts with NASCAR Rivals in their library can now race Local Multiplayer with up to eight players in a lobby.

The third DLC pack – the Playoff Pack DLC – for NASCAR Rivals on the Nintendo Switch, is now available to own as of 24th January.

A new DLC pack – The Patriotic Pack DLC – and some game fixes are now available for NASCAR Rivals as of 13th January.

The 1.0.2 patch is on the way for NASCAR Rivals on Monday (19th December) which will include quality of life updates, plus DLC is on the way.
