Nintendo Switch enthusiasts with NASCAR Rivals in their library can now race Local Multiplayer with up to eight players in a lobby.

On Friday evening, NASCAR Rivals for Nintendo Switch received its first update since January. Patch 1.0.5 introduces Local Multiplayer to the fold, where up to eight players can play together on the same wireless network

Simply put, when the title launched last year, it came included with both Splitscreen Multiplayer and Online Multiplayer up to 16 players across Nintendo Switch Online. Local Multiplayer, also known as Wireless Play, is a feature that Nintendo supports with their Switch devices, and now it is active on NASCAR Rivals.

Up to eight Nintendo Switch consoles can connect, as long as they are on the same network as one another, and lobbies have the same race customization options as racing online over Online Multiplayer.

As it is with Online Multiplayer, players can set their online vehicle and join into created lobbies. Of course, if you only have one Nintendo Switch, Splitscreen Multiplayer is still an option for two players to compete against each other in.

Wireless Play (Local Multiplayer) is now an option with the latest 1.0.5 patch.

NASCAR Rivals is the official NASCAR game of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season. It’s available on the Nintendo e-Shop for $34.99, with three DLC packs that include extra liveries available for $9.99 each.
