Following far-reaching redundancies earlier this week, Le Mans Ultimate and rFactor 2 owner Motorsport Games is dealing with a “number of inquiries” as it considers a buyout or a merger.
Le Mans Ultimate
Le Mans Ultimate is set to be the official video game of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and FIA World Endurance Championship.
Developed by the Motorsport Games-owned Studio 397, it will include all of the current WEC grid across LMDh, LMH, LMP2 and GTE and season's tracks, which include the likes of Fuji Speedway, Bahrain and Circuit de la Sarthe.
It uses the existing pMotor 2.5 technology seen underpinning rFactor 2, however, with specific visual and physics enhancements, alongside fresh netcode. Any early version of the PC-only sim racing title was playable at the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans event. It’s was slated for a December 2023 release date, but was moved to February 2024 through early access.
