CarX Street is now, finally, starting its rollout onto home console devices. The open-world street racing game – think Need for Speed, The Crew Motorfest or Test Drive Unlimited as its main rivals – first began life on mobile devices in 2022.
Then, there was a PC version in August 2024, which, when we initially tested, we were impressed by the accessible, drift-heavy vehicle handling and setting – but over time, less enamoured by the grind for credits, which still had a free-to-play vibe.
This has been amended and tweaked, via a series of updates, alongside a larger car roster. As there’s an absence of licenced vehicles, the tuning and visual customisations possible are wide-ranging.
Now, it will hit Xbox Series X|S consoles – although, in a strange twist, the release date has not yet been provided.

Instead, the date when Xbox pre-orders will begin has been announced as 4th June 2025. Then, presumably, after the store page is up, there may be an estimated release window.
“Stay tuned for the news about CarX Street version for Sony PlayStation,” said the Xbox announcement post.
