Yet another official British Touring Car Championship vehicle is headed to PC simulator rFactor 2.
The Studio 397 development team, part of the Motorsports Games group, has been hard at work with several licenced BTCC cars and tracks this year.
The Astra is built and run by Power Maxed Racing in the series, with drivers Jason Plato and Dan Lloyd at the helm during the 2021 season – which are the included liveries. Plato holds the record for the most BTCC race wins, with 97.
Using the TOCA-supplied 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, the duo managed a collective five podium finishes for the team.
This follows the BMW 330i in November, plus the Hyundai, Toyota, Infiniti and Ford BTCC cars. It means only the Honda Civic and León remain absent. Tracks such as Brands Hatch, Donington Park, Croft and Thruxton that feature on the calendar are also available for the platform.
Of late, the development team has released content in quarterly ‘drops’, but this seems to eschew that model, with the Astra alongside some ‘surprises‘ expected to launch on 21st December 2022.
