British F4 Esports’ second season looks set to build on a successful debut campaign as more series partners join forces with the Motorsport UK-sanctioned series.
The governing body of motorsport in the United Kingdom has gathered a grid choc-full of real and virtual racing talent, including Formula 1-linked sim racing teams such as Williams Esports and the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Esports Team, as well as British F4 outfit JHR Developments.
Top esports teams like Guild Esports, Dörr Esports and Apex Racing Team will also be on the grid, with a surprise late announcement confirming Altus Esports will also participate.
Having already announced Maranello-based simulator producer Wave Italy as title partner, Motorsport UK has also confirmed Base Performance Simulators and World Sim Racing are both on board for 2023.
Base Performance Simulators, a simulator manufacturer and driver coaching centre based in Banbury, is set to offer the top three teams in the championship a full day in its bespoke single-seater simulator.
Headed by three-time 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner Darren Turner, Base Performance Simulators will help the three lucky teams develop and improve their driving skills alongside a fully qualified race engineer.
World Sim Racing (WSR) is an established sim racing platform offering high-quality esports leagues on iRacing. WSR comes onboard as the British F4 Esports series’ sporting partner, handling the administration of the championship; including stewarding and points allocation.
The first round of the 2023 British F4 Esports series kicks off on the 27th of September from Brands Hatch’s Indy circuit. All rounds will be broadcast live on Racespot TV’s YouTube channel.

2023 British F4 Esports feeder series
A feeder series for the championship – the UK FF1600 Esports Cup – has previously been announced, with races set to form part of the main British F4 Esports broadcast. It’s open to anyone with an iRacing subscription – pending a pre-championship time attack with the Ray FF1600 at Oulton Park – with the top 30 qualifying for the championship.
Racers are also required to hold a valid Motorsport UK Esports membership (currently £24.99 per year), complementing the introduction of the organisation’s new Esports Hub.
