British F4 Esports is back for another season, with the 2023 calendar announced and set to closely mirror the real-world F4 British Championship by visiting tracks like Donington Park, Knockhill and Brands Hatch.

Set to take place using the iRacing platform, British F4 Esports has already revealed top Formula 1-aligned sim racing teams such as Williams Esports and the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Esports Team will be on the 2023 grid, with 2022 champion Luke McKeown’s outfit, Apex Racing Team, making a return.

Officially sanctioned by Motorsport UK, the UK’s motorsport governing body, each round is set to be broadcast live on Racespot TV’s YouTube channel

In terms of prizes, Motorsport UK has confirmed last season’s £6,000 purse will be improved upon, with further details yet to be announced. However, the first of the series’ commercial partners has been revealed, with Maranello-based simulator producer Wave Italy coming on board for 2023:

“Wave Italy are delighted to be partnered with Motorsport UK for the British F4 Esports Championship,” stated Richard Boughton, CEO of Wave Italy UK.

“Motorsport UK is the home of motorsport and provides us with a great platform to build on for our state-of-the-art racing simulators,” he continued.

Using iRacing’s now officially-licenced FIA F4 car (formerly known as the Formula iR-04), the first race of the season takes place on Wednesday 27th September at Brands Hatch’s Indy layout, with more teams, drivers and championship partners set to be announced in due course.

2023 British F4 Esports feeder series

A feeder series for the championship – the UK FF1600 Esports Cup – has previously been announced, with races set to form part of the main British F4 Esports broadcast. It’s open to anyone with an iRacing subscription – pending a pre-championship time attack with the Ray FF1600 at Oulton Park – with the top 30 qualifying for the championship.

Racers are also required to hold a valid Motorsport UK Esports membership (currently £24.99 per year), complementing the introduction of the organisation’s new Esports Hub.
