Booster Course Pass Wave 3 comes to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe this holiday season

Two of the eight tracks that will be a part of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe‘s third DLC wave for the Booster Course Pass were unveiled on Tuesday (13th September) during a Nintendo Direct stream.

Coming this holiday season (sorry, nothing more precise than that), both Merry Mountain and Peach Gardens will be included in the roster of expanded tracks for the popular Nintendo Switch racing title.

Merry Mountain will join as a returning venue from the Kamek Cup in the Mario Kart mobile game, Mario Kart Tour.

The short track takes racers up and down a snowy mountain, complete with presents on a train, a snowy peak surrounded by Christmas items, and of course, what looks to be Santa’s sleigh in mid flight as you travel down back to the finish line.

Peach Gardens also returns from a couple of previous titles, originally released as a track for the Special Cup in Mario Kart DS for the Nintendo DS. The venue was re-released for Mario Kart Wii and placed within the Lightning Cup in the Retro tracks section.

This track is a little bit longer, and starts players at the stairs at the entrance to Peach’s Castle. From there, racers will race around the garden, avoiding slow patches of flowers and of course, multiple Chain Chomps.

These are only two of the planned eight tracks that will come in this third wave. Announced back in February, a total of 48 new tracks are coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe via six separate waves.

Wave 1 released back on 18th March, Wave 2 was released on 4th August and the sixth and final wave is set to release in December 2023. The entire Booster Course Pass will set you back about £22.49/€24.99/$24.99, but I mean, you’re basically getting another whole game’s amount of tracks in it.

Don’t forget though, it is included for those who have an active Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack Membership. Are there any other classic tracks that you’re hoping to see included in the next wave? Let us know in the comments!
