Support Traxion – Shop sim racing equipment
It’s time for another BeamNG teaser, and this time it appears a new drift venue is on the way soon.
At first glance, it looks as if this new area is a drift appurtenance to the existing West Coast USA circuit, with dedicated markings for the sideways sport.
Note the twisty, sinewy, nature of the asphalt, ideal for such an activity.
The associated caption shared by the simulation’s developers was: “Ready to tap some walls?”
This sounds as if it alludes to competitive drifting, whereby sometimes the rear of a car can get very close to, and evenly lightly touch, a perimeter wall.
Some old-style BeamNG drifting – things have changed since this footage
It follows significant updates to the platform with this style of driving in mind. Version 0.32 included refined drift initialisation and scoring plus a drift variant of the Ibishu BX car. The recent 0.34 update added revised drift scoring and free-roam areas.
There’s no firm release window for the anticipated Version 0.35 update, but we expected it to also include further rally mode enhancements.
