Assetto Corsa Competizione is looking slick in new PS5 gameplay

Back in December 2021, we highlighted the impressive visuals on the upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X release of GT World Challenge simulator Assetto Corsa Competizione.

Well, today gaming news website IGN released a short trailer displaying PS5 footage of the game in action, and it looks great!

Firstly, we are right into the thick of the action onboard an Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo at Zolder, Belgium. It’s dusk, so there are long shadows and all the graphical pleasantries we would normally see from the PC version.

Next, we hop aboard the good ship Boatley, sorry, Bentley, at a very wet and dark Spa-Francorchamps. This part of the video shows the smoothness of the PlayStation version despite the extra graphical strain on the system. Headlights, shadows, reflections, traffic and water spray all combine to make this a resource intensive experience, but the PS5 stands up well.

Unfortunately the video is only in 1080p, so we can’t quite see the game’s full visual potential, but the action zips along at 60fps and the details appear to be there to make this a huge step up from the PS4/Xbox One versions.

The new version of ACC will feature a saved game transfer feature, meaning you can transfer over your progress from PS4/Xbox One.

Originally slated for release on 24th February, the trailer states a new date of the 22nd February. No complaints here if the next-gen version arrives two days early!
