Funny Tales has just released its virtual reality motorcycle sim for Steam VR and PlayStation VR 2 compatible headsets.

VRider SBK is the official game of the FIM Superbike World Championship, featuring all the official bikes, tracks and riders from the 2023 season. However, although the game has single-player modes, most players will be hotly anticipating multiplayer, and VRider has a dedicated, six-player online mode.

There’s a caveat, though, with cross-platform multiplayer only possible between Steam VR and Meta Quest platforms, with PS VR 2 headset owners only able to play against each other. Still, with the PS VR 2 lacking many top-quality racing titles, it’s a minor inconvenience.

Players can ride against an impressive 22 AI opponents offline, including virtual recreations of riders like Jonathan Rea, Toprak Razgatlioglu and Alvaro Bautista, on tracks including Assen, Philip Island and Misano.

Officially licensed motorcycle manufacturers in VRider include BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha.

VRider SBK PS VR 2 price

VRider SBK costs £29.99 / $29.99 on PlayStation VR 2 and Steam.
