Pablo Espes lined up on pole position for the most recent GT500 race, ahead of Jarno Koch who was just 0.054s behind. Third lay Aday Coba Lopez, with the second row completed by Race 1 victor Sven-Ole Haase.

As the field of 1.6-litre single-seaters behind the overcast race uphill, the top four remained in the same order. By the second lap, Koch tried an outside manoeuvre, but Espes held on with a train of cars lining up in the slipstream.

Lopez dropped out of the fight for the win by spinning in the middle of the lap-opening Triple Gauche corner. Simultaneously, Koch grabbed the lead into Pont.

The stoush up front allowed Haase to close in, taking second on the seventh lap. Espes dropped into the clutches of Adam Isaksson and Dino Lombardi – the latter emerging from the scrap in third.

Meanwhile, Koch controlled the pace upfront to become the fifth winner in as many races.

  1. Jarno Koch – 10 laps
  2. Sven-Ole Haase +0.938
  3. Dino Lombardi +6.292
  4. Luis Beilicke +6.486
  5. Miroslav Svoboda +7.279

Finishing 20th in the opening race of the evening, Yoann Rouyer would line up on pole for the second ahead of Octavio Rondoletto and Marcello Caserta.

As the five red lights extinguished to begin the standing-start event, the front row held its nerve to keep its position.

In the midpack, race one winner Koch was wiped out, following an incident involving Haase and Lorenzo Manfredoti.

I took until the sixth lap for a position on the podium to change, as David Bozga swept around the outside of Rondoletto for second. Lopez would make up somewhat for their earlier indiscretion by following through soon after for third.

Rouyer, however, was now over four seconds ahead and took the win with consummate ease.
