Motorsport UK Abruzzi Prototype Challenge sim racing competition returns for 2025

Motorsport UK Esports is once again hosting a competitive iRacing sim racing competition, for both Pro and Am drivers, as the Abruzzi Prototype Challenge returns.

Run by the sim racing arm of the UK’s motorsport governing body, participants will take part across two car classes – LMDh (GTP) and GT3. There will be both Pro (for drivers with over 3,000 iRating) and Am categories for both vehicle types.

As ever, each race will feature a stewarding process by Motorsport UK, with an incident review process. The competition will also be broadcast live on RaceSpot TV and Motorsport UK TV.

This year, there will be six rounds, between 18th June and 23rd July, with venues including Spa-Francorchamps, Suzuka and Silverstone – which is a 300km finale. Other rounds are all 60 minutes long. Entrants can drop one round.

Last season, Ben Ford took the LMDh Pro category honours, with Luca Munro clinching the Am series. In LMP3 Pro, it was Ant Cassels, and in LMP3 Am, Ethan Barford.

Prizes on offer include a custom pair of Abruzzi gloves, boots and a shirt, plus a $10 iRacing gift card for the winner of each class. Each second-place driver will receive a custom pair of Abruzzi gloves and boots plus a $5 iRacing gift card, while third receives the gloves.

There will also be a random draw for another pair of gloves open to all competitors.

All participants must hold a paid Motorsport UK Esports Membership (£27.99 for 12 months) and are required to sign up via the championship landing page on The SimGrid.
