The usual update cycle has been broken, with a mid-month Gran Turismo 7 patch to include a Suzuki, a Honda, a Chevrolet Corvette and a Ferrari.

Update: Gran Turismo 7’s update 1.59 patch is out now – check out the full patch notes at the end of the article.

The next Gran Turismo 7 update has things the wrong way round.

Usually, there’s a weekend teaser on social media by series lead Kazunori Yamauchi, followed by a server maintenance notice, then an unveil trailer a Wednesday and the update arriving on the final Thursday of the month.

But that didn’t happen in April, nor seemingly in May.

Instead, a server maintenance schedule was posted yesterday (8th) confirming the update to arrive on 15th May.

Then, the home page for the game on a PS5 accidentally unveiled the four new cars, with the trailer viewable on the game console.

Only after that did Yamauchi share the shadowy teaser, but the details are now in the public domain, spotted by Reddit users.

The next update will include:

  • Ferrari 812 Superfast ’17
  • Chevrolet Corvette C5 Z06 ’01
  • Honda CR-V (Fifth generation) E: HEV EX Black Edition ’21
  • Suzuki Carry KC ’12

The Ferrari is a traditional front-engine, V12, sports car from the Prancing Horse. Now replaced by the 12Cilindri, at least the 812 is a generation newer than the F12 currently in Gran Turismo 7.

Also plugging a generational gap is the Corvette, with every era present but one. Until now, that is, with this fifth-generation example. Here, it’s in the most performance-focused variant (for the C5), the Z06.

Then there’s the adorable Suzuki Carry kei pick-up, which is typically Japanese and typically Polyphony Digital. Prime for tunes, engine swaps, big rims and custom liveries. This is peak Gran Turismo.

The outlier here, then, is the humdrum Honda CR-V, which is neither fast, nimble, nor weird. It is just, a car.

We’ll be back on the 15th with a full rundown of changes when the patch notes arrive.

Update 14th May 2025

A day ahead of the patch arriving, Gran Turismo has now confirmed the update’s content, which were released early. Below is the official trailer and the images above have now been swapped from real-world examples to in-game shots.

Alongside the four new cars are three new World Circuits single-player races:

  • Lightweight K-Cup – Eiger Nordwand
  • American Clubman Cup 700 – Autódromo de Interlagos
  • Ferrari Circuit Challenge – Deep Forest Raceway

GT Sophy compatibility continues the slow roll out, with Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix Layout now part of the roster, and there is a new photography Scapes set theme around squares. There is no new menu book or track this time.
