Assetto Corsa EVO “assessing” if Fall 2025 still possible for Version 1.0

As the initial planned release window is removed from its road map, a Version 1.0 Assetto Corsa EVO release will be released “only when we can do so with confidence.”

A significantly changed road map for Assetto Corsa EVO not only confirmed Spa Francorchamps and a push back in the schedule for free roam, but it also removed a key component – the Fall 2025 expected release window for Version 1.0.

EVO launched into early access with much fanfare in January, as the garlanded developer Kunos Simulazioni started the ramp-up of completing a third series instalment.

Since then, following a turbulent beginning, it has moved forward modding tools to within the early access phases and teased a single-seater race car.

It also delayed the third major early access update, incorporating a change in game structure and adding further content, released yesterday (7th May).

This refactoring of the plan could impact the release date of the ‘version 1.0’ edition – but it also may not, depending on how the title progresses in the coming months.

“We’ve removed ‘Fall 2025’ as the expected release window for version 1.0 from our road map, because we’re currently assessing whether the major changes already implemented — along with the ambitious updates still to come — will allow us to stay within that timeframe,” said studio Co-founder and Executive Manager, Marco Massarutto, to Traxion.

“We prefer to announce a concrete release date for version 1.0 only when we can do so with confidence.”

With an updated road map, which now includes further significant updates and no end date expectation, it should free up Kunos to work both proactively on new features and reactively on community feedback with less deadline pressure.

Assetto Corsa EVO F1 cars, modding and offline modes coming soon

The initial launch of EVO was “in terms of numbers, the launch of Assetto Corsa EVO is so far the most successful in the story of the franchise“, according to Massarutto in a recent video.

However, player numbers have significantly dropped off since then, in a not-unexpected slump between updates while players await features such as online multiplayer and free-roam.
