The International Union of eMotorsport (IUEM) has announced a significant esports competition promising up to €150,000 in prizes. The competition is a global esports tournament with entries open now for European participants.
The International Esports Championship: Challenger Cup is open to entrants from all European countries and dependencies – including the UK. Two qualifying rounds lead to a glitzy grand final in Hong Kong.
The initial time trial phase runs from the 25th of January to the 25th of February, whereupon the top three drivers from each country will be invited to a knockout race taking place on the 4th of March. Each country’s top three exponents will receive €70, €50 and €30 for finishing first, second and third respectively before the knockout phase.
Each nation’s highest finisher in the knockout race will be invited to take part in an all-expenses paid trip to the grand final in Hong Kong, scheduled to take part in late March.
The competition is being run in association with Z-Challenger, an esports promoter and publisher of the upcoming Rev to Vertex PC street racing game.
The International Esports Championship: Challenger Cup will take place using Assetto Corsa Competizione with the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3 (Evo). The hot lap leaderboard event is at Brands Hatch GP, while the knockout race takes place at Barcelona’s GP track. A 20-minute sprint race format will be employed.
Be warned though, all hot laps in the leaderboard phase must have their accompanying replay and telemetry files to confirm validity. For more information and to sign up, visit the International Esports Championship: Challenger Cup website.
