Every 2022-season car model has been updated in F1 22 to more closely match the real-world counterparts, alongside some livery changes too.

The F1 22 game now has more life-like liveries and car models

Entitled the ‘Sport Liveries Update’, today’s (21st October 2022) update for the F1 22 game has updated each team’s design to more closely match the real-world paint schemes.

While each car in the game has had a unique shape and livery design from the day it launches, in June, small changes to designs and additional sponsors, plus car upgrades, have been added throughout the Formula 1 season.

In theory, then, today’s patch brings with it not just changes to colours and sponsors, but also vehicle geometry and bodywork. This also includes updates to team attires, hospitality spaces and garages.

Key vehicle changes

Red Bull Racing’s RB18 now has the appropriate Honda logo on the engine cover, among several other tweaks, which represents the Japanese company’s renewed interest in the squad from the Japanese Gran Prix onwards.

Increased exposed carbon fibre is now visible on the Alpine design, Google’s sponsorship of McLaren Racing has been updated and the Aston Martin has a significantly different rear wing.

All cars have physical part changes aside from just paint scheme changes.

China and Portugal now driveable in career modes

The two post-release tracks, the Algarve International Circuit in August and Shanghai International Circuit in September, can now be played within the career modes if you so choose – but only for the second season onwards.

There are further quality of life changes too, all of which are listed below.
