Rainbow Studios’ embattled motocross racer MX vs ATV Legends has delivered a less-than-stellar sales performance, according to THQ Nordic’s parent company Embrace Group.
Speaking at a Q1 (April-June 2022) interim earning report today (18th August), the performance of the seventh title in the long-running off-road gaming series was discussed.
“The PC and console games segment had a low release activity,” said Lars Wingefors, Founder and CEO of Embracer Group, when talking about the Q1 2022 financial results.
“The only release that had a notable financial contribution was Evil Dead: The Game. Other notable releases in the quarter were Song of Conquest… MotoGP 22…. as well as MX vs ATV Legends developed by Rainbow Studios.
The revenue contribution of MX vs ATV Legends is expected to be long term.”
Since its launch in June, which in our opinion featured several bugs and inconsistencies, the title has become billed as “the first live support product in motocross gaming.”
