It’s here, the full rundown of Forza Horizon 5’s first-ever Festival Playlist. We know from previous game previews that the DMC DeLorean will be part of this update, alongside the game’s cover car, the Mercedes-AMG ONE. We also know that the FP is points-based as opposed to percentages. Rejoice!
Now the full Festival Playlist has been detailed and thus begins hopefully several years of free content drops, new challenges and Traxion.GG articles.
Let’s jump into the Forza Horizon 5 Series 1 Festival Playlist.
The two items to aim for when it comes to overall Festival Playlist rewards – tracking points accumulated across four weeks – are the aforementioned Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar that uses a road-biased version of the Mercedes F1 engine on the road, and the feted McLaren F1.
The Mercedes is yours once 120 points are in your bank, whereas the McLaren is 180. Keep in mind that some events only pay our two or three points, these will require dedication. Both cars are of the ‘legendary’ persuasion.
Then we have a look at summer, which is ‘wet season’ in FH5, the much-hyped DMC DeLorean can be yours for 26 points within this month, alongside the Aston Martin DSB 2019 for 46 points. The DMC reaches ‘legendary’ status, whereas the Aston Maritn is ‘Epic’.
Elsewhere in the month, if you complete the trial ‘Making a splash’ you will receive the ‘hard to find’ Mini X-Raid off-road racer. Other ‘hard to find’ cars in this month are the Hyundai Veloster N and the Hoonicorn V2 – Ken Block’s wild drift monster.
A revision for Horizon 5 vs. Horizon 4 is that the PR events will need to be done in a set car class. So the ‘Danger Sign’ challenge here needs to be completed in an S1 retro sports car. You’ll be rewarded with a Wheelspin, the system returning for this new game. This month also showcases the wide away of Forza Link – read, online gameplay – rewards.
On to autumn next, the storm season, and some familiar faces return. For 22 over points, an ‘epic’ Honda Civic ‘84 can your yours and for 42 points, an ‘epic’ Radical RXC.
As for vehicles when individual events are completed, the ‘hard to find’ Lamborghini Murciélago can be yours, alongside the equally scarce Ford Ranger Raptor and BMW X6 M.
In winter, aka the dry month, the ‘legendary’ Italdesign Zerouno ‘18 and Subaru 22B can be yours for acquiring 22 and 42 points respectively.
As for ‘hard to find’ cars, there’s the Ferrari Dino, Ford GT ‘05 and Pagani Huayra BC.
A new feature for Forza Horizon 5 is the Eventlab, where players can create or compete on user-generated levels – a fun twist on proceedings. These can be integrated into the Festival Playlist, so here a Game Designer has treated a challenge within the new mode, with the reward being a new car horn.
Finally, we have spring, the hot season, where the two lead cars to unlock are the ‘epic’ Raesr TS ‘19, which came to Forza Horizon 4 earlier this year, and Toyota Trueno.
Elsewhere you can unlock the ‘hard to find’ Jaguar F-Type, and Ford Fiesta ‘81.
Overall, an interesting month. There is one new car, the DMC, and plenty of Wheelspins, Super Wheelspins, car horns and credit pay-outs. With the vast majority of cars being previously utilised in FH4, let us know in the comments below if there’s enough incentive to collect the cars again or if you are hyped by the Festival Playlist revisions.
