The Genesis GMR-001 LMDh race car has been added to Le Mans Ultimate for free, in a surprise expansion to the simulation’s Version 1.3 update.
2026 will see the Korean luxury brand – an offshoot of Hyundai – take to the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship for the first time.
It will enter two of the machines in the premier Hypercar class this season, with the #17 initially represented in the game. The sibmling #19 car and paint scheme will follow “in a future patch” according to publisher Motorsport Games.
This particular entrant will be driven by Luis Felipe ‘Pipo’ Derani, Mathys Jaubert and André Lotterer.
It’s a significant, factory-backed effort, with Anouck Abadie as Team Manager, touring car legend Gabriele Tarquini as Sporting Director and sitting under Cyril Abiteboul as Principal of Hyundai Motorsport.
The virtual version was unveiled at the same time as the real-world car’s livery, which will include the Le Mans Ultimate logo for all races.
It marks the first of the 2026-season specification cars for the sim racing platform. Genesis is the only new entrant this time; however, Toyota, Peugeot, Alpine and BMW all have visual upgrades, while there are several ‘evo’ spec LMGT3 updates.
