- Race-themed Race Day DLC coming to Cities: Skylines
- Players can create street or purpose-built tracks
When you think of Cities: Skylines, motorsport probably doesn’t immediately spring to mind.
The city-building sim, which is like the modern equivalent of Sim City, is about to receive an interesting piece of content that lets players host racing events on their city streets.
The Race Day DLC, available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of they game, allows the creation of cycle, running and car races, as well as parades. You choose the route and the event time, and the game will automatically shut down your streets, presumably disrupting your citizens’ daily commute.
The beauty of the race event creator is that players can either choose to design a street circuit, incorporating their city’s highways and byways, or a purpose-built race track, so you can create your own facsimiles of famous venues.
And it sounds like your virtual populace can drive on these circuits when not in use. Just think: your little people can nip through Eau Rouge on their way to Lidl. You just can’t buy that type of experience in the middle aisle.
