TCR class cars are raced in multiple real-world categories, predominantly by customer drivers and teams, much like GT3 vehicles. There is a manufacturer-backed FIA TCR World Tour series too, where Hyundai competes with this model.
Every car in this category is front-wheel drive, turbocharged and heavily modified compared to the road cars they are based upon.
In Gr.4 there are other FWD touring cars in GT7, such as the Renault Megane, Audi TT and Volkswagen Scirocco – however, these are fictional creations, with this new Hyundai being the first to conform to the real-world TCR class.
