You can now buy the Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro purely as a wheel base

When the Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro was originally revealed back in November 2021, it was part of a bundle that included a GT-themed wheel and a set of CSL Pedals, but now the wheel base is available separately.

Entitled the ‘Gran Turismo DD Pro Wheel Base’, this allows those who may already own Fanatec pedals or a sim racing wheel rim to purchase the standalone base.

Similarly, if you’re starting from zero, you can now pick and choose which wheel rim or pedals you may desire to go alongside the wheel base.

We heavily praised the DD Pro in our review of the full package, praising its direct drive feedback.

“The sim racing experience you get at this price point is simply unmatched, and it opens up basically the entire Fanatec ecosystem.”

As an added bonus, the Boost Kit 180, which enhances peak torque output from 5Nm to 8Nm, is included with the Gran Turismo DD Pro Wheel Base. For the base-level bundle previously or the similar CSL DD, this was a €149.95/$149.95 optional extra.

The Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro Wheel Base is available to order now for €599.95/$599.95 – a Fanatec CSL DD is currently €479.95/$479.95 but is compatible with fewer devices – with first deliveries hitting on 25th March 2022.

It’s compatible with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC devices and is also Xbox ready should you purchase an Xbox-compatible wheel rim.

If you’ve been reading the sparkling Gran Turismo 7 reviews and are now looking to step up with a wheel, this could be the option for you.
