Wave 4 of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass is coming Spring 2023

At the end of Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct (8th February), Nintendo announced that the fourth wave for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s DLC, the Booster Course Pass, is due out in the Spring this year.

There are just a few scarce details surrounding what will be included in Wave 4, but a new track and a returning character will be a part of it.

The new track is Yoshi’s Island, decked out with scenery found in many Yoshi titles over the years. From the trailer, the course looks to contain both an underwater section and a section where you race on the clouds.

A character the debuted in Mario Kart: Double Dash, Birdo joins the fun when Wave 4 goes live. Birdo will have multiple color variants to choose from. Birdo last appeared in Mario Kart Tour for mobile devices, but did not appear as a playable character in Mario Kart 7.

The Booster Course Pass has released half of the six projected waves so far. Wave 1 released back on 18th March, Wave 2 was released on 4th August and Wave 3 was launched on 7th December. The sixth and final wave is set to release in December 2023.

The entire DLC comes in one piece and will set you back about £22.49/€24.99/$24.99. It is also included as a perk for those who have an active Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack Membership.
