WATCH: A tribute to the lost Grand Prix - Hanoi, Vietnam

It was all set to be a momentous occasion. The first Formula 1 Grand Prix held in Vietnam. A brand-new circuit around the Nam Từ Liêm district of Hanoi. Codemasters creating the new venue for the F1 2020 game.

The stage was set, yet the Coivd-19 pandemic had other ideas. Then, the organiser had other alleged ideas too.

We have then been left with a track in F1 2020 that will not be in F1 2021, and at this juncture, may never see any real racing happen upon it.

With this in mind, I set out to create a brief tribute to the Hanoi Street Circuit. A venue that’s perhaps not going to be remembered as a potential great, or even remembered a tall, but one that I think is more challenging to drive than some of F1’s other venues.

I thought there was no better way to show off a track that is now resigned to the annals of time than by testing out some of the classic F1 games in the game. I go through each one and provide you with a little bit of history mixed with my opinion and driving impressions.

If you think about it, this is the closest you can get to a ‘classic track’ in the game now…
