WATCH: Let’s play TOCA Race Driver 3, Episode 8

This week on our TOCA Race Driver 3 retrospective, it’s time to fire up the Aussie V8s.

Our Games and Esports Editor, Tom, loves V8 Supercars, or as it’s now known today the Repco Supercars Championship. He regularly wakes up at an ungodly hour on weekends and pays a yearly subscription to watch the championship as he believes it’s one of the best touring car series on the planet.

While cars from the series have appeared in games since RD3, for example iRacing or Forza Motorsport 7, neither has come close to offering as much choice. The majority of the tracks from the championship are in here, plus all the cars, drivers and liveries were too. In this instance, so was the support series, known these days as Super 2.

As I mentioned in the first episode, the game was even released with the name ‘V8 Supercars 3’ in Australia and New Zealand.

Here we’ve got the Holden Performance Driving Centre V8 Supercar Series for races around Eastern Creek (entitled Sydney Motorsport Park these days), Queensland Raceway (known affectionately as the ‘paperclip’) and the epic Adelaide Street Circuit (which sadly is not currently hosting events due to political wrangling).

No one mention Neil Crompton’s Dick problem

As always, let me know your thoughts on social media and don’t forget to watch the seven previous episodes.
