A significant update for Automobilista 2 will add the vehicles alongside the optional paid DLC of Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

  • Formula Junior (Free)
  • Sigma P1 G5 (Free)
  • Formula USA 2023 (Racin´ USA Pt3 DLC)

The two fictional machines will have their own distinct character, with the Formula Junior harking back to an undercard from the 1960s. Lightweight, eager engine, skinny tyres, it should be all about keeping your momentum.

At the other end of the scale is a reworking of Reiza’s IndyCar-like open-wheeler, re-engineered after an initial reveal back in August-2022. Then, the similarities between it and the real-world IR-18 raised a few eyebrows at the Penske-owned organisation, in combination with the upcoming 2024 IndyCar game, hence the new look.

“…although that did end up netting a deal for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, ultimately the car was too tied up with their agreement for the official Indycar game for them to license it to anyone else,” said Renato Simioni, Studio Head and Project Manager Reiza Studios.

The new design doesn’t share a panel with the erstwhile design, but is said to share similar technical specifications and will come in with road, short oval and speedway aero kits. It’s paid DLC as part of the existing Racin´ USA Pt3 pack.

There’s also a licenced real-world car in the form of the Sigma P1 G5 prototype, which debuted towards the end of last season in the Imperio Endurance Brasil championship. It’s an evolution of the existing P1 G4 – which was similar to LMP3 vehicles – thanks to a reduced weight, a new aero kit and a revised suspension set-up.

The date for the next update is not yet set, other than the ‘late May’ expectation.
