Hot on the heels of the 1971 Nürburgring Gesamtstrecke, a more contemporary track is headed to Automobilista 2 in the form of Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

According to a development blog posted on the Brazilian developer’s forum, the venue is “expected to arrive with a late May update” for an expected price of $6.99 / €5.99, or included for those with the 2020-2022 Season Pass or Premium Track Pack.

It will sit alongside the likes of a renovated Circuit de Spa-Franchorchamps, arriving first ahead of other sim platforms for Automobilista 2 in August of last year, as a current Formula 1 venue.

It’s not clear which layouts will be included, however, the developers have referenced the format without the fiddly final chicane, which F1 will follow MotoGP in jettisoning for this season.

The Montmeló-based track is available for, or included with, titles such as Gran Turismo 7, iRacing and Assetto Corsa Competizione. It will arrive amidst a busy year for the platform, with a historic Mount Panorama, enhanced online multiplayer and modding support all due in 2023.

It will launch alongside three new cars.
